Where do I want to live? Consider things like proximity to friends & family, schools, work as well as what type of neighborhood or property you want to live on. Think about your lifestyle, not only the house itself.
What are your non-negotiables in my new home? Think about what is most important to you. Maybe it’s the amount of space, the location, or how the home layout will function.
What areas are you willing to compromise? To get what you most want, think about areas that are less important to you as well.
What is your timeline on purchasing your new home? Maybe it’s the start of the next school year, a job transfer, or some other life change. Define your timeline, even if you have flexibility.
What things need to happen before you are able to complete a purchase? Maybe you have a home you must sell first, or you need to consider when your lease is up.
What can you afford to spend? Think hard about this one, because what you can afford to spend may differ from what you get pre-approved for.
