Thinking Back & Looking Forward

Hello 2018! Thinking Back & Looking Forward...

Wow… 2017 was quite the year! We definitely marked some milestones off our list, that's for sure. One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to reflect back as well as look ahead and set some new goals. Let's get to it.

In 2017....

We bought an office! It's hard to believe that up until this year I had maintained a home based business. The process of buying the building and then working hand in hand with my dad to remodel the interior was an experience I will never forget. Design has always been one of my biggest inspirations, and now I look forward to getting to work in this space on a daily basis. One of the biggest compliments I have received so far was from a friend/colleague who walked in the door and told us it 'felt' like our brand. Check out all of the befores here. I'll be posting a full album of the much anticipated afters later this week!

'I' became 'We'. Building a team is my biggest accomplishment of 2017 by far. I am a very independent person and have worked by myself for the majority of my career so far. It's really been a great experience to bring Jordan & Sheryl onboard and introduce some new ideas & collaboration. Look out- they are going to do big things! We've already had a ton of fun together hosting our 3rd annual Youth Coat Drive, moving into and decorating our office space and who can forget- recording our kick ass holiday video!

Killed it with Cedar Point Village. We still have one closing on the books for the first part of January, but we completely sold out an entire development in 2017. From formulating a long term marketing plan to working a model home, we got to cross a lot of firsts off our list. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience to help with each build from start to finish and have a hand in selections, etc. I got to form relationships with a lot of great clients and continued a great relationship with my Key Homes family. We are very grateful for their trust in us to work hand in hand on this project.

Signed up for Leadership Oldham County. I'm not a 'networking' kind of person, but this year long program has been a great fit. Everyone who's a part of this is there to learn about our community, create relationships, and build leadership skills. We've also got to do some pretty cool things like tour Yew Dell Gardens and visit the new jail. I still have a few months left, so we will see what else unfolds.

Got to participate in a Homes for Hope project. This was a VERY cool experience, not to mention one of my favorite homes to date. It was neat to be part of a project that gives others a hand up, rather than just a hand out. Check out the video we put together below on this experience.

In 2018, we....

Begin phase 2 of the office remodel… bring on the exterior! Though the building got a minor face lift including painted brick and our painted logo in 2017, 2018 will bring even more. We are changing up the porch, replacing the front door, adding new gutters/downspouts, painting the exterior trim & more. Stay tuned! In the meantime. look back to some of our inspiration!

Launch our Hometown Heroes Program! We are very excited about this new program we've created to give back to our Oldham County area police, fire, EMS, and teachers. We have some fun events planned throughout the year and are really looking forward to getting involved.  We had a great time delivering cookies to all of our local heroes over the holidays, but that was just the tip of the iceberg!

Host a killer client party! We are seriously looking forward to hosting an amazing client party in 2018 to thank everyone for supporting us over the years. Stay tuned! You know it's going to be great with Sheryl's event planning skills ;)

Work it at the Villas at Claymont Springs development. We have the opportunity to market and sell another community in Crestwood, and we have big plans for really ramping things up after the first of the year. Check out more about this exciting project here.

Other goals we have for 2018 include:

  • Building a platform to connect with other local businesses in an organic way

  • Upping our use of video

  • Sticking to more of a schedule with social media & other marketing tasks

  • Continuing to build our relationship as a team!

Have an amazing, fulfilling 2018!
