House Party: Event Recap

Towards the end of 2018 at our team meeting, we started talking about our 2019 goals as a company. Many of our goals could be categorized into three themes: promoting local businesses that we love, finding unique and innovative ways to market our properties, and supporting philanthropic organizations that we are inspired by.

Our first event out of the gate for 2019 managed to hit on all three.

We thought “let’s make a COOL open house!” and we rolled with it from there. We have so many local businesses that we love. Some founded by friends and former clients, artists we use for closing gifts, companies we follow on Instagram, some big some small… all kinds. We are always sharing our latest obsession around our office. So we started cherry-picking our favorites and asking them to join us! Whether it be apps, drinks, pop-up shops, home organizing demos, massages -- we wanted it there. All the things!!!

We couldn’t have an event supporting kids and tell them to stay home…. So we had a kid’s room! While parents shopped and mingled upstairs, their children were wreaking havoc in the basement. There was truly something there for everyone :)

After a recent trip to Nashville to attend ‘Landyn’s Favorite Things’ in support of Make A Wish, we were so inspired by the work that they do. The obvious thing to do was to take donations for our event and donate every penny to the kiddos.

Just like that it came together! We staged some throughout the home and our vendors had some incredible displays up their sleeve. They were so clever with their space and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of them. Like I said, they are our personal favorites!

After two snow days in a row, we were overwhelmed with our turnout. It seemed like everyone was dying to get out of the house. Money raised? $3,000. In one night. At an open house.

We were pumped.

We took away so much from this event and can’t wait until our next Shopping/Drinking/Eating/ Open House Extravaganza (as some might call it). We are so thankful for every single person that helped or attended this event. We hope you loved it as much as we did.
